"Doing Good" -- The story behind the story.

After two trips through the editorial process, "Doing Good" is now up and available for download on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Smashwords.com.  The story acts as a starting point for the travels of Mac MacClaine and his best friend, Tank with the first leg of their journey that will lead them to the beautiful Pacific Northwest.  Those who have read "Following Claire" will know how Mac came to take this journey and all the events that led up to it.

"Doing Good" deals with the digusting crime of child trafficking.  Crimes against children are repulsive to any sane and thinking individual.  So, the obvious question that I have been asked is, "Why?  Why did you write a book that deals with it?"  It so happens that during the time that I was developing and mapping the book, the evening news was filled with stories of Jaycee Lee Dugard.  This is the young woman who was abducted in 1991and kept for eighteen years by a monster who literally stole Jaycee's life from her.  Of course her story also brought to mind that of Elizabeth Smart, a young girl who was abducted in Utah.  And there have been others.  Being a writer gives me the privilege of telling a story from beginning to end and having all of the parts be what I want them to be.  The criminals who stole the lives of Jaycee and Elizabeth will be dealt with by the criminal courts.  The criminals who stole my characters have been dealt with by me.  And, I enjoyed every minute of it.
